Ubuntu has released updated packages to address a vulnerability identified in Xine-lib. This flaw is due to a buffer overflow error in the "xineplug_inp_http.so" plugin that does not properly handle an overly long reply received from an HTTP server, which could be exploited by remote attackers to crash a vulnerable application or execute arbitrary commands.

Solution
Upgrade libxine1 to version 1.0-1ubuntu3.7 (for Ubuntu 5.04), version 1.0.1-1ubuntu10.3 (for Ubuntu 5.10), or version 1.1.1+ubuntu2-7.1 (for Ubuntu 6.06 LTS).
