A vulnerability was identified in Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV), which may be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary code. This flaw is due to a buffer overflow error in the HTTP client in the Freshclam command line utility that does not properly handle an overly large HTTP header size (more than 8 KB) received from a web server, which could be exploited by attackers to compromise a vulnerable system by convincing a user to download virus signature updates from a specially crafted web server.
