>> LibTIFF Image Handling Multiple Buffer Overflow and Denial of Service Vulnerabilities
|
Multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in LibTIFF, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary commands or cause a denial of service.
The first issue is due to buffer overflow errors in the "TIFFFetchAnyArray()" [tif_dirread.c] function and in certain cleanup methods and functions, which could be exploited by attackers to crash a vulnerable application via a malformed TIFF image.
The second flaw is due to an integer overflow error in the "TIFFFetchData()" [tif_dirread.c] function, which could be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary commands via a specially crafted TIFF image.
The third vulnerability is due to a double-free error in "tif_jpeg.c" within certain setfield/getfield methods in cleanup functions, which could be exploited by attackers to crash a vulnerable application or execute arbitrary commands.
The fourth flaw is due to an error in the "TIFFToRGB()" [tif_color.c] function that does not properly handle a TIFF image with Yr/Yg/Yb values that exceed the YCR/YCG/YCB values, which could be exploited by attackers to crash a vulnerable application via a malformed image.
