Title : BEA WebLogic Server and Express Security Bypass and Denial of Service VUPEN ID : VUPEN/ADV-2006-1021 CVE ID : CVE-2006-1351 - CVE-2006-1352
Rated as : High Risk
Remotely Exploitable : Yes Locally Exploitable : Yes Release Date : 2006-03-21
Technical Description
Two vulnerabilities have been identified in BEA WebLogic Server and Express, which could be exploited by attackers to gain knowledge of sensitive information or cause a denial of service.
The first issue is due to an error in a default internal servlet that allows access to the local Windows filesystem, which could be exploited by attackers to read arbitrary files on a vulnerable system.
The second flaw is due to an error in the XML parser that does not properly handle certain XML documents, which could be exploited by attackers to cause a vulnerable server to run out of memory, creating a denial of service condition.
