Technical Description
A vulnerability has been identified in LibTIFF, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service. This flaw is due to a NULL pointer dereference in the "TIFFVSetField()" [tif_dir.c] function that does not properly handle certain TIFF images, which could be exploited by attackers to crash a vulnerable application linked against LibTIFF by convincing a user to open a malicious TIFF file.
