Multiple vulnerabilities were identified in Apple QuickTime, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service.

The first issue is due to stack overflow errors when processing malformed QTIF, JPEG and PICT images, which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable system via a malicious image file.

The second flaw is due to buffer overflow, integer overflow, and integer underflow errors when handling malformed TGA images, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service via a malicious TGA file.

The third vulnerability is due to integer overflow errors when processing malformed TIFF images, which could be exploited by remote attackers to compromise a vulnerable system via a malicious TIFF file.

The fourth issue is due to a heap overflow error when processing the Netscape Navigator Application Extension Block in GIF images, which could be exploited by remote attackers to take complete control of an affected system via a malformed GIF file.

The fifth flaw is due to a heap overflow error in QuickTime.qts when processing the "stsd" or "Movie Resource" atom in QuickTime media files, which could be exploited by remote attackers to take complete control of an affected system by convincing a user to visit a specially crafted Web page.
