Title : BlueCoat WinProxy Remote Code Execution and DoS Vulnerabilities VUPEN ID : VUPEN/ADV-2006-0065 CVE ID : CVE-2005-3187 - CVE-2005-3654 - CVE-2005-4085
Rated as : Critical
Remotely Exploitable : Yes Locally Exploitable : Yes Release Date : 2006-01-06
Technical Description
Multiple vulnerabilities were identified in BlueCoat WinProxy, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands or cause a denial of service.
The first issue is due to an error when processing an overly long HTTP request (approximately 32768 bytes), which could be exploited by attackers who have access to the network segment that contains the listening daemon to cause a denial of service.
The second vulnerability is due to a buffer overflow error when handling an overly long "Host:" header, which could be exploited by remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands.
The third flaw is due to a heap overflow error in the telnet proxy that does not properly handle a large string of "0xFF" characters, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary commands.
