A vulnerability has been identified in Mailman, which may be exploited by malicious users to conduct denial of service attacks. This flaw is due to an input validation error in the "Scrubber.py" script that does not properly handle an email containing an attachment with "utf8" characters in its filename, which could be exploited by remote attackers to cause a denial of service by sending a specially crafted email to a vulnerable server.

Mailman version 2.1.5 and prior

Solution

Upgrade to version 2.1.7rc1.
