>> Ubuntu Security Update Fixes AWStats Command Execution Issue
|
Ubuntu has released updated packages to correct a vulnerability identified in AWStats. This flaw is due to an input validation error in the "awstats.pl" script that does not properly filter a specially crafted "url" parameter (in "ShowInfoURL_$pluginname") before calling the "eval()" function, which can be exploited by remote attackers to inject and execute arbitrary Perl commands via the referrer statistics page. For additional information, see : VUPEN/ADV-2005-1352
Affected Products
Ubuntu 5.04
Solution
Upgrade the affected package to version 6.3-1ubuntu0.1
