A vulnerability has been identified in GNU GNATS, which could be exploited by local attackers to overwrite arbitrary files. This flaw is due to insecure permissions when running "gen-index" with a specially crafted "-o" parameter, which could be exploited by malicious users to overwrite arbitrary files on a vulnerable system.
