Technical Description

Ubuntu has released a security patch to correct a vulnerability identified in Gaim. This flaw occurs in Yahoo! component when processing filenames containing non-ASCII characters, which may be exploited to cause the application to crash. For additional information, see : VUPEN/ADV-2005-0725

Solution

Upgrade the affected package to version 1:1.0.0-1ubuntu1.5 (for Ubuntu 4.10) and 1:1.1.4-1ubuntu4.2 (for Ubuntu 5.04).
